About Rhiannon Roze

DJ since 2001, Lyricist/MC since 2011, and Producer since 2017, Rhiannon Roze is a pioneer of the triple threat artists who rap original vocals live over their DJ sets. Known for rocking crowds with her magnetic stage presence and contagious uplifting energy, Rhiannon is a 100% independent artist. Rhiannon started spinning Bass House before the genre was established. Dual citizen of Canada and the UK, Rhiannon was exposed to House, Grime, and Bassline at a young age. From 2001 to 2007 Rhiannon played vinyl records in these genres in Vancouver's underground dance music scene and this led her to becoming recognized as the solid DJ that she is. Rhiannon started touring internationally to increase exposure and opportunities for female DJs worldwide. Along the way, she opened for Tiësto, deadmau5, Steve Aoki, and Chris Lake.

 

After 10 years of touring and a move to Los Angeles, California, Rhiannon began studying music production. Now an alumnus of Matrix Sessions, Cosmic Academy, and IO Music Academy, Rhiannon produces solo originals, releasing her first Bass House track in 2018. Rhiannon has since released on Insomniac RecordsNight Bass, DNDDirtybird, In/RotationTerminal Underground, and more. Rhiannon's tracks have been supported by Habstrakt, Malaa, AC Slater, Dr. Fresch, Tchami, Calvin Harris, and more. Rhiannon has collaborated with Matroda, Volac, NuBass, MPHBleu Clair, FOMONeon Steve, Keeld of Bellecour, Ciszak, and more. With millions of streams under her belt, Rhiannon has achieved multiple #1 chartings on Beatport’s Top 100 Bass House and has reached as high as #50 on

1001 Tracklists hand-picked Rhiannon as one of their The Future Of Dance Music artists alongside the Top 101 Producers of 2021. Official Global DJ Rankings credits Rhiannon as being "a trustworthy DJ delivering an impeccable performance at every event."  DJ Mag Canada featured Rhiannon alongside Hardwell, Max Graham, and Blond:ish.  Clubkillers invited Rhiannon to be the first female in the world to have a DJ mix featured on their infamous Clubkillers Radio Podcast.  The National Film Board of Canada shot a documentary about Rhiannon called Rock The Box that toured film festivals in North America before its official NFB release. DJ record pool BPM Supreme hired Rhiannon as a music curator, influencer, and blog writer.  After a decade on the decks, Rhiannon was named Canada's #1 female DJ by multiple polls, promoters, publications, and fans. Rhiannon’s most popular release is Feel The Beat which has over 5 million streams on Spotify alone. Rhiannon released her first solo Bass House track in 2018 and even shot a music video for it. Rhiannon has bilingual features on Sak Noel's label, Barnaton.

Rhiannon's DJing style is high-energy, interactive, and fun.  She plays exciting sets that inspire people to be in the moment, dance, and forget the rest.  Rhiannon is a house music lover and specializes in bass house, tech house, and everything EDM, blending familiar dance floor favourites with rich underground sounds.  As a versatile artist, she has produced and played genres like trap, moombahton, and hip hop as well.  Such versatility in both style and skill has made Rhiannon a popular DJ amongst a wide variety of party-goers.  She can please everyone from top 40 crowds to raging EDM fans to picky underground house & bass heads.  Rhiannon knows what people want on the dance floor and she delivers it with a cheeky smile.  Her goal is to bring this dynamic level of talent, positivity, and personality to the music industry worldwide.

Since Rhiannon spent the first eight years of her DJ career playing on vinyl & turntables, her ears are well-trained.  A true professional and crowd-pleaser, Rhiannon never pre-plans her sets or plays the same set twice.  She treats each show like a unique experience and taps into the style and mood of each crowd that she performs for.  Rhiannon selects tracks on-the-fly, mixes seamlessly, and speaks live on the mic to connect with her audience.  Her infectious energy casts a spell on the room, drawing ears, eyes, and hearts to the stage for an unforgettable experience. Repeat business is Rhiannon's specialty; once a venue or promoter has booked her, they always invite her back.

 

Beyond Rhiannon's global DJ residencies and extensive touring within the USA, she boasts repeat shows at Palazzo and Blue Parrot in Playa del Carmen, Xtine and Strana in Puerto Vallarta, Lobby and Cintermex in Monterrey, Club Muzique in Montreal, Uniun, Cube, Aria, and Gravity in Toronto, Union Hall and Knoxville's (now Anthem) in Edmonton, Fortune Sound Club, The Red Room, Gossip, and Bar None in Vancouver, and Allure on George in St. John's, along with dozens of others. Rhiannon has also DJ'd in England, Australia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Indonesia, Jamaica, Suriname, Tahiti, and Hawaii.

Besides being a badass DJ, producer, and artist, Rhiannon is also a professional voiceover actor at Dean Panaro Talent. In her first year back in the VO game since 2009 she booked spots with high profile brands including Apple Podcasts, NerdWallet, and McDonald's.  Rhiannon is a scholarship and award-winning academic with a Double Major Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of British Columbia.  She is a member of The Golden Key International Honour Society which means she came in at the top of her graduating class.  Rhiannon is a citizen of both Canada and the UK and resides as a legal permanent resident in the United States of America.  She is bilingual by education, fluent in English and Spanish with some French on the side.  Rhiannon appeared in the hit TV series Smallville and has been featured on VICE's music channel Noisey as well as UKF, HIHF, EDM Maniac, Fashion TV, Juice TV, B-Real TV, Club District TVThe Fab Femme, and many others. Rhiannon has been featured in numerous magazines including DJ Mag Canada, The D List, VanCity Buzz, and Playboy Magazine (Official Playmate & Covergirl). On the side, Rhiannon is a legally certified pranayama facilitator and breathwork teacher at Soul of Yoga, and volunteer at several conscious and sustainable organizations including an alternative wellness center in Peru/Portugal called Sinchi Runa, a women's center in California called Journey Out, and her breathwork school, The Academy of Integrated Human Sciences by The Breath Center.

Rhiannon has been a published writer & author since the age of 7 when she won a contest for one of her original poems which was published in a book.  Growing up, she continued to be nominated and published in student journals, community newspapers, and other publications.  After school, she studied performing arts including ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre, modern stage, drama, and piano.  Her love for soccer took over, however, and she became a competitive athlete until university.  In the year 2000, Rhiannon taught herself how to DJ using Technics 1200 turntables, a Behringer mixer, and a stack of 12" house and breakbeat records.  Rhiannon still has her vinyl collection at home with her today.
